19th June - Vanessa Haynes Duo present Aretha Franklin - Queen of Soul
Start your evening by picnicking in the beautiful Grade 1 listed Iford Manor gardens and enjoy a wander through the various water features, columns and antiquities.
Then head to Iford's Grade II* cloisters (covered for the evening) to enjoy Vanessa Haynes celebrate the songs made famous by arguably the greatest soul singer ever - Aretha Franklin. Her concerts at Ronnie Scotts in 2026 are already sold out.
Those at Iford take place in-the-round with just 90 seats, this will be a unique experience with everyone just a few meters away from the performance.
Seating
‘Up close & personal’ seats will be within the centre of the (covered) cloister and very close to the performers.
Standard seats will be located in the cloister’s ambulatories, behind the cloister’s slender columns. Seating is pre-allocated in favour of those who book first. Tickets are not issued in advance, but an usher will show you to your allocated seats on the night.

First set: 19:30
Interval: 20:15 (complimentary teas & coffees will be served on the Conservatory Terrace)
Second set: 21:00

About the artist
Pianist and singer Vanessa Haynes celebrates the songs made famous by arguably the greatest soul singer ever - Aretha Franklin.
The long-reigning and undisputed Queen of Soul left an extraordinary legacy of timeless songs for generations. Aretha Franklin won 18 Grammys, had 17 Top Ten US chart hits and sold over 75 million records over a music career spanning six decades, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time.
In 2008 Vanessa became backing vocalist to Van Morrison. She’s worked and recorded with Billy Ocean, Chaka Khan, LuLu, Anastacia, Leon Ware, Mario Biondi, Dave Stewart and long-term vocalist for Brit jazz funk band Incognito. She has performed with Guy Barker at the Proms and continues to be showcased for her incredible voice.

Please note that 25% of your ticket price is a heritage contribution that will be spent directly on the restoration, maintenance and improvement of the venue, being the Grade 1 listed garden here at Iford and the numerous listed structures therein. Ticket prices include VAT.
Tickets are non-refundable, unless the event is sold out and we are able to successfully re-sell your ticket. An administration fee of £5 per ticket resold will be charged.
Children under 10 are not permitted in the garden. Any children over this age are welcome, but a full price ticket must be purchased for them.
