Two of the UK’s most revered jazz musicians – keyboardist Jason Rebello and multi-reedist Tim Garland. Rebello and Garland are both lauded musicians who between with them have worked with luminaries such as some of the biggest names in music.
Tim had his breakout when he joined the Ronnie Scott's band at 23. Later he joined Chick Corea as a regular member of many high profile projects including "The Vigil". Playing Tenor and Soprano Sax, Bass Clarinet, and flute, he has won a Grammy for his symphonic orchestrations of Corea's "The New Crystal Silence" album on 2007.
"Garland…his level of genius is rare" Chick Corea
Jason Rebello is an award winning pianist who broke onto the Jazz scene at 19. Classically trained, but influenced by Herbie Hancock, he was mentored by Wayne Shorter of Weather Report's fame. His debut album subsequently went to Number 1. He became a member of Sting's band in 1999, and toured with the band for 6 years. Since then he has worked with Jeff Beck, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Joss Stone, and Pee Wee Ellis to name a few! He is a founding member of the Jazz Factory at Wiltshire Music Centre.
“Rebello…[one] of the finest…jazz musicians this country has produced.” Jazz: The Modern Resurgence
The duo's 2023 album "Life to Life" has recieved rave reviews from critics, and came out as a natural progression of a long standing friendship.
”Garland and Rebello assuredly demonstrate their shared instinctive and visceral musicianship on this 10-track duo record, which serves as an authentic output of the story so far of a strong and long-lasting friendship between two highly accomplished musicians."

"Had I not been sitting about three feet away from the action, I would have suspected some kind of electronic trickery because the arrangement was so complex, the timing so nifty and Ms Dankworth’s vocal control so exquisite"
The Observer
“One of our finest singers, regardless of category”
Sunday Times
“Jacqui Dankworth doesn’t confine herself to singing jazz; she is gracefully at ease in folk music and semi classical contexts, as well as being an imaginative interpreter of standards. But in all her incarnations, she exhibits a subtle control of dynamics and a voluptuous tonal richness that seems to make almost any material sound special”
The Guardian

We cannot wait to welcome legendary jazz-funk band Shakatak to Iford! Throughout their long career Shakatak have released over 50 CDs plus several DVDs and most of the band’s extensive back catalogue is available world-wide on Secret Records or JVC Records plus iTunes and the usual outlets.
For live performances the band consists of original members Bill Sharpe (keys), Jill Saward (lead voc, perc & flt), Roger Odell (drs), George Anderson (bs gtr) and Keith Winter (gtr & bvs) augmented with Jacqui Hicks (bvs & sax) or Debby Bracknell (bvs & flute) producing a musically dynamic and entertaining show from the 6 piece line-up.
Shakatak have enjoyed a level of success and career longevity rarely paralleled in contemporary music but then Shakatak is a particularly unusual group. Because of the nature of their music their fan base is one that is far reaching while always retaining an “underground” element. This paradox sees the band, who are known primarily for their musicality, enjoying both high “cult” status and instant recognition as a household name due to their numerous hit recordings.
Shakatak’s sound has evolved over the years, incorporating elements of dance, soul, and smooth jazz into their music. They have released numerous albums and singles, maintained a dedicated fan base and continuing to perform live shows worldwide. Their longevity in the music industry, along with their ability to blend various genres into a distinctive style, has solidified Shakatak as influential figures in the jazz-funk and pop music scenes.
